Many of the leading physicists of his generation publicly accused Albert Einstein of plagiarizing both the Special Theory of Relativity and the General Theory of Relativity. This history has largely been suppressed. Christopher Jon Bjerknes analyzes the accusations made against Einstein, provides the proof that Einstein did indeed plagiarize the works of David Hilbert, Paul Gerber and Georg von Soldner, as well as many others, and debunks the theory that it was instead Hilbert who had copied the generally covariant field equations of gravitation from Einstein. Einstein's famous thought experiments were also parroted from his predecessors.
